eWater Systems welcomes the recent appointment of Andrew Buckenara. Offering specialist hydraulic engineering advice and consultancy in the design, specification and installation of integrated and reticulated ROX electrolysed water systems, Andrew is an integral part of our team.

He trained as a plumber and then as a hydraulic engineer, and is experienced with industrial, commercial and domestic spheres coordinating complex projects and systems.

‘I am very excited to be onboard with eWater Systems, as I think we provide a fantastic environmentally friendly product which, in essence, changes the way people look at cleaning and sanitising.

‘Typically, when we think about cleaning and sanitising, we think of chemical-based products but eWater Systems provides a totally different approach. With government and industry alike concentrating on reducing the environmental impacts their businesses are having, it is a good feeling to know that we can offer a product that is a better alternative for cleaning and sanitising. I feel like I am doing my part to help protect our environment.’

Andrew will also manage the service and maintenance side of the business as well as in sales and marketing activities. His appointment reflects the increasing awareness of eWater Systems in the building and infrastructure arenas, as well as a growing acceptance of the economic, environmental and OH&S benefits of the ROX-branded products.

Prevent ’superbug’ infections spreading

Recently, the spread of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, also known as MRSA – an antibiotic-resistant infection that can sometimes be fatal – has made headlines.

MRSA is a major cause of hospital-acquired infections that are becoming increasingly difficult to combat due to emerging resistance to all current antibiotic classes. In fact, strains of MRSA have been identified that appear to be well-adapted to the hospital environment and is now becoming noticeable in the community worldwide, sometimes causing fatal infections in otherwise healthy individuals.

It is transmitted person-to-person usually via the hands, but can also be spread through inadequate medical procedures and sanitisation in hospitals where it can be transmitted by having direct contact with another person’s infection or touching contaminated surfaces or items.

Experts stress that more stringent sanitisation procedures using effective products such as electrolysed water, could deter/prevent the spread of MRSA, and that hospitals in particular would benefit.

Many hospitals and aged care centres already rely on electrolysed water as it sanitises every surface imaginable, successfully eliminating pathogens of all kinds from surgical and healthcare equipment as well as eradicating bacteria, viruses and mould.

We are always being asked how electrolyzed water works. And when we explain that it’s simply a process of combining water, salt and electricity people look as us if we’re alchemists. Anything but! We don’t use any chemicals at all. Actually the way it works – the electrolytic process – is well known. Its not a miracle, its just a huge surprise it taken so long to discover its benefits. Its similar to the way common salt water pool chlorinators function. Its clearest explanation is by illustration so check out this link. http://www.ewatersystems.com.au/e-water/electrolyzed-water/). While our equipment embodies a simple process, what makes ROX so special is that this equipment consistently produces chemical free cleaning and sanitizing solutions the highest standards.
